This PDF crochet pattern will guide you to crochet a lovely chicken tea cosy as shown in pictures, perfect for your breakfast or lunch table! 
 
The tea cosy will be made using DK/8 ply acrylic yarn and crochet hook D (3 mm).
Wool or cotton yarn will be suitable too for this pattern, as long as you can meet gauge. The tea cosy in the pictures was made using Stylecraft Special DK (100 gr / 322 yds / 294 m).
 
There will be an opening under the handle to cover your teapot easily, with a snap button closure (press stud). The pattern is suitable for any standard model teapot, 1.1 liter, circumference approx. 15.75” (40 cm), measured around the widest part of the pot, excl. the spout and handle. 
 
The main part of the cosy is worked in rows, while some other parts are worked in continuous rounds. Finished size will be approx. 8.3” (21 cm) tall, circumference 16.5” (42 cm).
 
Skill level: Intermediate.
 
Approx. Gauge: Before you start, you may need to check your gauge. This is important for fitting the cover over your teapot. 5 sc = 1” (2.5 cm) 
 
Materials used:
- Crochet hook size E (3.5 mm), standard size teapot, 1,1 liter
- DK yarn in white (approx. 65 gr, 215 yds, 195 m), light brown (approx. 20 gr, 65 yds, 60 m) small amounts of pink and red
- Fiberfill stuffing, stitch marker, tapestry needle, pins, scissors
- 1 sewing snap button (press stud), diameter approx. 0.06” (14 mm), or Velcro
- Pink and red sewing thread, 1 pair 6 mm black safety eyes
 
Stitches used: chain, slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, spike stitch, increasing, decreasing
